KNOWSHOW, Canada's premiere fashion and lifestyle tradeshow has dedicated it's summer 2013 theme to the golden state. A California beach look will surround the show including a Quiksilver sponsored lounge.
Arriving before the actual show time was set to begin gave us a chance to check out plenty of on-trend goods and peruse a seemingly endless array of major and emerging vendors while snapping photos of looks we think young professionals will love.
Follow us as we take Vancouver by storm, surviving the rigorous Canadian airport customs, harrowing suspension bridge crossing, and syringe-laden Blood Alley. Okay fine, so we attended the KNOWSHOW tradeshow, threw a 10-year anniversary party at Fortune Sound Club, and hung out with Jillionaire from Major Lazer. But the bridge was really scary tho.
The DWCC was founded in 2012 when professional snowboarder, Devun Walsh, partnered with the annual KNOWSHOW Golf Tournament for the purpose of creating awareness and raising funds for cancer research and treatment.
Like the characters that embody it, Francis’ work is strong in its gutsiness and adaptability. With subject matter ranging from warming oceans and flooded ecosystems to cops getting their faces bitten off by their own dogs, it’s funny, irreverent, and darkly serious all at once, tapping into the underlying cultural anxiety that occupies these near-apocalyptic times.
The inaugural tournament put Devun’s off season passion for golf to good work and thanks to the long-time supporters of Devun and the many generous parties that contributed; a total of $10,500 was donated to the Canadian Cancer Society in 2012.
The bi-annual, three-day affair brings more than 1,000 brands and buyers together to talk seasonal style trends and developments, while also affording younger brands an international stage to debut their wares.
KNOWSHOW brings Canada’s top lifestyle brands together with retail buyers and media – Roxy and Vitamin A hosted ‘Endless Summer,’ a swimwear presentation on an artificial beach in the middle of the Vancouver Convention Centre.
